Point to Point Transport Reform - Creating Jobs recipientsAnnounced in December 2015, the NSW Government’s Point to Point transport reforms have deregulated the booked transport industry and accommodated ride share to help boost the supply of safe and innovative transport. Interim regulatory changes were made immediately. The second stage project was the Point to Point Transport (Taxi and Hire Vehicle) Bill, introduced on 3 June and passed on 22 June. The Act established a new standalone regulator and the $250 million industry adjustment scheme. It is estimated that the reforms will generate $30 million per annum in regulatory savings for industry, as well as generate a more than 40% increase in driver hours and more than 2,300 extra full-time equivalent jobs each year.
