Improving Government Services
Industry, Skills and Regional Development
Len Waters has worked with TAFE NSW - New England Institute for 15 years and during that time has
been committed to improving service delivery in some of the most remote communities of the New England
North West region. Len and TAFE NSW New England Institute worked closely with the Toomelah community
to undertake repairs and projects at the community cemetery. This project was considered to be vital for
community healing. Len passionately advocates the benefits of education, training and culture and his
integrated community and training programs have increased the satisfaction with government service delivery.
Len has a strong connection to the Aboriginal communities in the region, having been born on the Toomelah
mission, which drives him to respond to the needs of Aboriginal people by linking people, places and culture.
