Rowing Australia Limited

In March 2013 the Sydney International Regatta Centre hosted the Sydney International Rowing Regatta. It was the first time the World Rowing Cup opening round has ever been held in the southern hemisphere and only the second time outside Europe. The international event, staged 18-24 March 2013, also included the King’s and Queen’s Cup Regattas, Australian Open Rowing Championships and Australian Schools Rowing Championships. Apart from providing a magnificent showcase for the sport, the event delivered significant social and economic benefits to the people of NSW. The event generated up to $7 million for the local economy and provided a fantastic opportunity for thousands of visitors to see world class rowers in action, including recent medal winners from the London 2012 Olympic Games.
