Cornucopia Project - Winner, Premier's Partnership Award 2012
This [award] means a lot to our mental health consumers who work the program and our mental health team who train them up to be able to take their place in the general community.

Cornucopia Project

The Cornucopia Project exemplifies how excellent partnerships between public sector teams and business deliver results for the people of NSW.

The project, which has been operating for over 15 years, is a partnership between Macquarie Area Rehabilitation Specialities (MARS Inc) and the CREATE Team, North Shore Ryde Mental Health, to create employment for people with severe psychiatric disability. The fully self sufficient project now employs up to 50 psychiatric clients in the Cornucopia café, the wholesale indigenous plant nursery and the garden makeover business at Gladesville Hospital.

The innovative partnership between MARS Inc and CREATE has resulted in a service that is enterprising, flexible and responsive to the needs of its employees and clients.
